Knobbed Cylinders: Remaining Blocks

Present one block at a time, in this order: height only, then height and diameter together, then height and diameter in opposite directions.

Carry the block to the table with both hands and place it in front of you.

Remove cylinders one at a time with the three-finger grip, left to right, and place them randomly on the table.

Before placing a cylinder, hold it beside the empty holes and look at its height against the depth of each hole.

Lower each cylinder into a hole; if it sits too high or too low, lift it out and try again.

When all are replaced, pass your fingertips across the tops to show they are level with the block.

Invite the child to repeat the work.

Grade the cylinders in a line on the table before replacing them.
Build towers with the cylinders from the block where height and diameter decrease together.
Replace the cylinders blindfolded.
Carry each cylinder from across the room to the block.

A cylinder in the wrong hole either sits above the surface of the block, sinks below it, or will not go in; the last cylinder has no hole to fit.
