SE 3.03Geometric Form Cards: Sets 1, 2, and 3
The child matches the cabinet insets to cards that show each shape filled, then as a thick outline, then as a thin outline.

Presentation

Take one drawer the child knows and the matching Set 1 cards.

Lay the cards out on a table or rug.
- 3
Take one inset, look at the cards, and place the inset exactly on its card.

Continue until each inset covers its card.
- 5
Remove the insets and return them to the drawer.
- 6
Present Set 2 (thick outline) once Set 1 is easy, then Set 3 (thin outline).
Extensions, easiest to hardest
- Match cards from all three sets to each other without the insets.
- Place the cards across the room and bring the matching inset.
- Mix cards from several drawers.
- Trace the thin-outline card shape with a pencil on paper.
Control of error
The inset covers the shape on the card exactly; on the wrong card, color or outline shows around the edge or the inset hangs over.
