Invite each child to share a family photo and name the people in it.

Say: 'Families are different, and each family takes care of its members.'

Show a community helper card: 'This is a firefighter. A firefighter helps put out fires and keeps people safe.'

Show the matching tool: fire hose.

Present two more helpers: nurse and stethoscope, mail carrier and mail bag.

Invite the child to match helpers to tools.

Find the fire station or library on the community map.

Guide note
Include many family structures: single parent, grandparents, two moms or two dads, foster families. Avoid gender stereotypes in helper pictures.
