Association of Golden Bead Quantities and Numeral Cards

Set out one unit, one ten, one hundred, one thousand and the cards 1, 10, 100, 1000. The child places each card beside its bead.

Show the card 300: 'Bring me this many.' The child goes to the bank with a tray and brings three hundred squares.

Back at the rug, the child counts the squares and places the card above them.

Reverse: lay out five ten bars. The child counts them and finds the card 50.

Repeat across categories, mixing the order.

With two or three children, give each a different card to fetch; check each child's beads together.

Child is given two cards from different categories (200 and 6) and fetches both quantities.
Child lays out 1–9 of each category in beads beside the full card layout.

The beads brought are counted against the card at the rug by the child, a peer, or the guide; the card's color and zeros must match the kind of bead.
