After hearing a story, the child retells the main events in order, using pictures or props at first.

Presentation

Read the story aloud to the child.

Lay out the sequence cards in a mixed order.
- 3
Ask, "What happened first?" and help the child find that card.
- 4
Continue: "What happened next?" until all cards are in order.
- 5
Invite the child to tell the story using the cards.
- 6
Ask, "Who was in the story?" and "Where did it happen?"
