LA 5.04Blue Series: Consonant Blends
The child reads phonetic words with consonant blends (flag, stamp, frog) using object boxes, picture cards, and lists.

Presentation
- 1
Lay out the objects and name them together, stressing the blend: "fffflag."
- 2
Take out a label and point under each letter, sounding each one: "/f/ /l/ /a/ /g/."
- 3
Show that the two consonants at the start are both said, one quickly after the other.

Blend the whole word and place the label by the object.
- 5
Invite the child to read the rest of the labels.
- 6
Read all the labels together at the end.
