The child uses the daily calendar to name yesterday, today, and tomorrow, then the days of the week and months of the year.

At the morning gathering, ask: 'What did we do yesterday?'

Place the today card on today's date: 'Today is [day].'

Move the yesterday card to the day before, and the tomorrow card to the day after.

Ask: 'What will we do tomorrow?' and name the planned activity.

Sing a days-of-the-week song and point to each day.

Assign a calendar helper each day to move the cards.

Later, introduce the months with a month chain and name the current month and the birth months of the children.

- Sequence day cards on a mat
- Sequence month cards on a mat and place the four season cards
- Fill in a blank monthly calendar with numbers
- Mark special days, birthdays, and celebrations on the calendar
Control of error
The wall calendar and the numbered or color-coded day and month cards show the correct order.
